A Talk with Former NBA Player and NY Knick Baron Davis

Former NY Knick and NBA player Baron Davis stopped by during Activities period on Feb. 10 to speak to the Middle Schoolers about wellness and perseverance. He was injured about two years ago and seriously hurt his knee, and has been rehabilitating it ever since. He was an amazing basketball player, very well known on a number of different teams throughout his career. After the special assembly, Baron headed over to the Middle School basketball practices and had a shoot-around with the boys’ Blue Team and the girls’ team.

According to Middle School Athletic Director Chris Schmid, Baron “has such a kind personality, and his message at the assembly regarding living healthy lifestyles, including good nutritional habits, hit the right chord with the children. The children loved speaking with him, and he autographed everything placed in front of him, even the sneakers that were still on the children’s feet!”
