D-E’s AIDS Awareness club hosted a fundraising banquet on March 2. Two of the event’s co-organizers, Harrison Platt ’17 and Sophia Kim ’16, acted as emcees for the night, which featured music from Tim Holt ’17, Julia Braverman ’17, and Amanda Haroutunian ’17, who performed individually and then sang together. The set included “Hollow” by Tori Kelly, “Gravity” by John Mayer, “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5, “Sorry” by Justin Bieber, “Cough Syrup” by Young the Giant, “She Will Be Loved” by Maroon 5, and “Can’t Feel My Face” by The Weeknd.
The evening also included delicious food—provided by Jerry’s Gourmet in Englewood—and raffle drawings for items such as Beats headphones, a Dylan’s Candy Bar basket, NY Jets and Rangers tickets, and SoulCycle classes. Co-organizer Danielle Zeller ’17 characterized the event as “extremely successful!” She says, “We had an incredible time spreading information about the HIV virus, listening to amazing performances, and eating a lot of food!”
