In October, the 2015 issue of Calliope, issued this past June, was awarded Gold Medalist status by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) in the Critique phase of judging for high school magazines. Calliope 2015 scored 935 points on a 1,000-point scale to reach Gold Medal status. Even more impressively, it received All-Columbian honors in both Verbal and Visual categories. To achieve those special honors, a publication must score 380 or better out of 400 points per category; the last time an issue of Calliope received All-Columbian honors in both categories was 2006.

This Gold Medal is Calliope’s fourth in a row and 11th Gold over the course of the past 12 years.

Huge congratulations go to the editors of Calliope 2015—Savannah DiGiovanni ’16, Wendy Gonzalez ’15, and Lisa Mordkovich ’15—to all of last year’s Calliope staff, and to everyone who contributed art, photography and writing to the magazine.
