With family, friends, and alumni present, and just a bit of stormy weather, the Class of 2016 celebrated its Commencement on June 5. The day offered up both old and new D-E traditions: the ceremony as usual took place under the big white tent on Leggett Field, but new this year was the processional of the graduating class, faculty, and staff coming out of the Hajjar STEM Center to the ceremony.

Alumni Panel Event Inspires, Advises

The Young Alumni Career and Internship Advice Panel held in January was an event for the Development Office’s career networking program, D-E Horizons. The inspirational panel featured ten D-E graduates who have distinguished themselves as leaders in their respective industries since graduation.

Dr. Oz Kicks Off “The Road to Well-Being” Speaker Series

Celebrated surgeon, media personality and D-E parent Dr. Mehmet Oz stopped by on Monday morning for a special assembly in the Large Gym of Modell’s Sports Complex to kick off D-E’s 2014-2015 School Speaker Series, “The Road to Well-Being.” Dr. Oz’s hour-long presentation on “Living the Good Life” urged students in grades 4 through 12, as well as the faculty, staff and parents in the audience, to make a positive impact on their health and outlook.


Icy Cool Start to School Year at Welcome Assembly

“Are you happy????” is the question Head of School Dr. Rodney De Jarnett asked the entire Dwight-Englewood (D-E) school body at the start of the 2014-2015 Welcome Assembly, an annual tradition where all three divisions gather in the Large Gym of D-E’s Modell’s Sports Complex to kick off the school year.
