A new initiative under the Dwight-Englewood Student Government was the first-ever D-E Benefit Concert. Held on Jan. 9, it will featured a variety of student musicians and performances. The concert was just one of the ways Student Government promotes diverse student interests in both the school and local community – and for this concert, with the help of local nonprofit Community Chest.
“By initiating the Benefit Concert event this year, we wish to establish and continue the collaborating effort between the school and the local community through the help of Community Chest,” said concert co-organizer and performer Irene Wu ‘15.
The concert, organized by the Student Government, was held in D-E’s Hajjar Auditorium and featured more than 15 students, performing both classical and jazz music.
All admission fees collected and donations gathered were sent directly to the Community Chest as well as the JCC Thurnauer School of Music in Tenafly.
