Contributed by Rachel Brusky, Upper School Visual Arts Faculty Member
This year at D-E, students and faculty were invited to create works of art inspired by their favorite literature, poetry, and philosophical texts. Submissions to the Literature and Philosophy Art-Making Challenge included photography, paintings, drawings, mixed media, digital art pieces, and sculpture. These works were exhibited in the Imperatore Library during our Second Annual Library Art Show from April 28 to May 27. The student and faculty artists featured in the show were Haley Algrant ’21, Rachel Brusky, Maggie Chou ’18, Casey Danoff ’16, Wyland June ’20, Madeleine Kachikian ’18, Esther Lee ’20, Lucy Plowe ’16, Grace Rosenberg ’19, Middle School visual arts teacher Lydia Scrivanich, Dylan Seu ’20, and Jonathan Toumit ’22. Artworks in the exhibition can be viewed online at the Literature and Philosophy Art Site Gallery Page at bit.ly/LPArtChallenge.
