On a day when most of the Upper School students were taking standardized tests, the Class of 2015 was off campus working in the service of others. The class divided into groups for the morning and participated in one of four projects at four different venues: interacting with children and senior citizens at the Bergen Family Center; creating food packages for local students and families from donated food items at the Center for Food Action; cleaning up the Stag Hill area with the Mahwah Environmental Volunteer Organization; and working at ArtWorks, where they sorted, packed and shipped art supplies to participating hospitals. It was a welcome respite for many in a semester that is dominated by the work and anxiety of the college application process. After their sessions, the class joined back up at the Englewood Boat Basin and had a picnic by the Hudson, supplied by the parents of the senior class.
