Taylor Krakower ’16: The Record’s High School Female Athlete of the Week – Nov. 4

As of early November, Taylor Krakower ’16 was New Jersey’s leading scorer in high school soccer. Her five goals and three assists in two shutout games against Hawthorne Christian and Ridgefield the last week of October solidified her being honored as The Record’s High School Female Athlete of the Week, announced on Nov. 4.

She had already broken D-E’s record of goals in a season set by Rachel Cole ’12 in 2011 and scored her 51st a few weeks back – which prompted Rachel, now a junior at Rutgers, to congratulate Taylor via Facebook. It was a surreal moment for Taylor, who had been told since coming to D-E that she could be the next Rachel Cole.

On Dec. 9, The Record named its H.S. Girls Soccer All-Bergen County team, as selected by the Bergen County Women’s Coaches Association, and placed Taylor as a forward in the Third Team, the “Honorable-mention team [that] consists of players who were selected first team All-Division.”

According to Eddie Ballas, girls soccer coach, “Taylor has been our leading goal scorer for the last three years. This year, she led the state in goal scoring with 57 goals, 14 assists and 128 points and was also the team’s MVP.”

Congratulations on a great penultimate season, Taylor!
