Track comes away with their largest point totals ever!

The D-E Varsity Track team had its most successful season in many years. The team participated in the Bergen County Championships in late May and came away with their largest point totals ever. Hanna Jerome ’14 swept the distance events, winning the 800, 1600 and 3200. She also set the school record in the 800 event. Shereen Al-Sawwaf ’15 won the 200, while Garrett Finn ’14 won the 100. In addition to the aforementioned winners, D-E athletes medaled in their events, with Emily Kim ’14 setting a school record in the pole vault. Aleem James ’15 medaled in three events, taking third in the long jump, high jump and the 100.

To round out their season, at the State Meet of Champions on June 4, the team continued to rack up great performances. Hanna Jerome lowered her school record in the 1600, Ryan Semsel ’15 lowered his in the 800, Shereen Al-Sawwaf lowered hers in the 200 and the girls’ 4 x 800 team of Tara Satnick ’16, Viviana Torres ’17, Jessica Verp ’17 and Hanna Jerome lowered theirs by ten seconds!
