Handwashing Message from Nurse Krane

In addition to staying home and maintaining a 6-foot physical distance when we go out, handwashing and keeping our hands off our face are of paramount importance. I have had an opportunity to speak to a few of the zoom classes, reinforcing these “rules”.

The short video, below, is a great visual to help even the youngest of our students understand how to wash their hands properly.

Additionally, some of our students will remember me speaking to them about the “T-Zone”, part of the Henry the Hand Program. As a matter of fact, they all love the “germ” poster that is on the wall next to the Health Office!  You may find fun pages to color that reinforce the T Zone and handwashing for your child – click here to view.

Face touching is one of the hardest things to break. The Henry the Hand Foundation suggests that having your child get used to wearing a face shield will ultimately lead to less face touching. I had not thought about that, but it’s worth a try!
