Arts Highlights

All three divisions of the School celebrated the arts in distinctive ways in the late winter and early spring seasons.

The Lower School (LS) embraced “The American Dream” with their annual Arts Festival, the fifth Grade persevered and performed their If It’s Broken, then Who Will Fix It?  original opera production, and LS students of all ages showcased their fascinating interests in the annual  “D-E’s Got Talent” event.  A striking “Peace and Unity” exhibit, with photography and hand-painted eggs, commemorated the annual Day of Remembrance. Middle Schoolers performed their original play Likes (a thoughtful and sometimes hilarious commentary on teens and social media) and recognized National Poetry Month by reading original poems during events including the annual Write Night and a new Poetry Café. In the Upper School, CoffeeHouse, VDay, and Jazz Rock events featured instrumental, comedic, and spoken word performances. D-E 360° hosted its annual MasterClass sessions for cello and violin, and masterfully concluded with a performance of Mozart by all MasterClass participants and the Upper School Orchestra together in Hajjar Auditorium. And all three divisions of the School were represented with LS, MS and US cast and crew members in the memorable production of Les Misérables School Edition.

To all who have contributed to enhancing our school culture through their work in the performing and visual arts, thank you!
