This November, D-E alumnus Adrian Evans IV ’17 debuted a collection of paintings, “The Blues Don’t Change” for our Swartley Art Gallery Series. A recent graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Adrian (aka "Ace") works for New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, and credits D-E as an inspirational space for his artistic growth! A Career Highlight! In December 2021, David Mager ’22 made his 1000th point during the Boys’ Varsity Basketball game against Glen Rock. Mager scored a total 40 points in the historic game. Moreover, Boys’ Varsity Basketball was named #11 in NorthJersey.com’s “Top 25 Teams” poll. D-E’s school spirit is stronger than ever! For more information about athletics, visit d-e.org/athletics.
The holidays brought special cheer to D-E and also welcomed Jazz Rock’s annual winter assembly showcase. Jazz Rock is a music and performance club by audition where students rehearse weekly then play special showcase assemblies throughout the school year. From rock ballads to electrifying guitar solos, Jazz Rock is a thrill for the whole community. To enjoy a D-E Jazz Rock Holiday 2021 video slideshow: click below! Service drives and activities led by student clubs were also in full swing this past holiday season! From a stocking stuffers drive for orphans in Central America to a Bake Sale by D-E's Stars Club (to help fund future astronomy-oriented speakers and field trips)... there was something for everyone to enjoy with D-E's clubs. In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, D-E hosted the annual MLK Day of Remembrance, virtually! Appointed students, faculty, and community members hosted different workshops about equity, leadership, and community building on Monday. Students are required to complete 40 hours of community service during their entire Upper School career. The day of service worked to facilitate completion of their requirement and to foster new opportunities for connection. For more information about traditions, visit d-e.org/traditions.
