Dwight-Englewood’s Model UN team recently hosted its first-ever interscholastic Model UN conference on campus. Over 90 delegates registered from 5 different schools, and they were spread across three committees: The United Nations Office of Outer Space Affairs (general assembly), The Bandung Conference (specialized), and Harry Potter (crisis). We also had a keynote speaker: Pat Alsup, the former Ambassador of the United States to the Gambia, who educated our delegates about her experiences dealing with global multilateral cooperation. Our entire D-EMUN secretariat worked tirelessly over the past six months to construct this substantial and educational conference, and it was a great success!
In the words of D-EMUN student leader Max Koppellman ‘25: “We are genuinely excited about the prospect of D-EMUN becoming a significant school tradition that promotes civic and global affairs engagement.”
