Way to ‘grow’, D-E! Thanks to the parents and students who participated in our recent Garden Work Party! Volunteers helped weed, tend and tidy the Nettie Louise Coyt Teaching Garden and also did a great “leaf round up” for which volunteers brought in bags of dead leaves and shredded them to be used as “browns” in D-E’s composting system. A wonderful spread (also thanks to our volunteers) helped sustain our hungry helpers and beautiful weather made this service event especially fun-tastic. All these efforts keep the garden in shape for our classes who will continue to use it for teaching concepts into the winter. Future D-E Garden Work Parties will be in April and May!
