Now through Wednesday, Feb. 26, the Swartley Gallery Series features 2D and 3D artwork from AP Studio Art students Sydney Adekanbi ’25, Daniela Delyusto ’25, Niki Donath ’25, Ben Gmyrek ’25, Olivia Kachikian ’25, Casey Law ’25, Elilee Ram ’25, Isabella Moon ’26, and Nisha Rajan ’26. Earlier today this work was celebrated in an official reception welcoming students, faculty/staff and family friends.

“Not every school has an art gallery,” says Casey, “so this was a great experience [to have your work exhibited] if you want to be an artist in the real world.” Her watercolor painting addresses environmental anxieties, and the accompanying 3D sculpture represents “how I’m connected to my environment,” she says.

For this exhibit, members of the Dwight-Englewood Writers (DEW) displayed QR codes that link to a web page presenting the art and a piece of writing inspired by it. Several writers, including Oriana Huang ’26, Grace Tomin ’26, and Asha Harker ’27, also read their poems aloud as part of the gallery reception this afternoon. “This type of writing, based on artwork, is a Greek tradition,” says Oriana.
