MAGIC 2025 Highlights

May 23, 2025 | D-E Traditions, Recent News

D-E’s school spirit was on full display recently at the Myrna B. Sherman Gym, where MAGIC happened! Rain kept the annual intramural competition indoors, but it didn’t dampen the sense of community beaming from the rafters. “Spirited, cheerful D-E is my favorite version of D-E!” exclaimed Debbie Rivera Murphy ’11, Dean of Student Life, who gave a shout-out to the MAGIC Student Committee and Faculty/Staff judges. Juniors (Class of 2026) took an early lead in the competition—which included a potato sack relay, a 3-legged race, back-to-back beach balls, an ice cream relay, musical chairs, and tug-of-war—and then won it all in a landslide!

MAGIC (Michael Andrew Glowski Intramural Competition) is named in memory of the late D-E alumnus Michael A. Glowski who was a member of the class of 1995; his father Dr. Mathew Glowski joined D-E students during the festivities and shared poignant reflections about Michael’s legacy as a student at D-E, remarking that his son “made everybody smile because he had the biggest smile around.”

“It was special to have Dr. Glowski join us and share insight into who Michael was and why we carry on this tradition,” said Ms. Murphy. Go Bulldogs!
