Senior Hannah Carroll ’25 recently presented her comedic one-act play, “How to Get Away with a Murder Mystery,” to a packed Hulst House. The student director described the show as “a parody on the beloved murder mystery genre with references to Clue, Knives Out, Sherlock Holmes, and more.” The audience laughed out loud to performances by Lauren Chu ’25 (the snarky “Vick Tim”), Caroline Chu ’27, Alene Huang ’27, Mia Noy ’27, Caroline Sung ’27, Masha Glozman ’28, Lauryn McBride ’28, Mackenzie Hammer ’28, and Eva Louro ’28, and narration by Audrey Kolber ’28 and Nate Russell ’28. “Directing this with the actors having clear ideas on how some characters have to act, but then letting it become unique for themselves has been an impactful journey,” noted Hannah. Following the curtain call, the cast and crew sang a jubilant “Happy Birthday” to Ben Gmyrek ’25, who handled the show’s technical effects and program design. Bravo to Hannah and her team for pouring their blood, sweat, and tears into this show!
