Author of more than a dozen books, Miriam Sagan is a poet, essayist, memoirist, teacher, and founding member of the collaborative press Tres Chicas Books. Her most recent novel, Black Rainbow, is set in the 1960s and told from two points of view. In it a woman kidnaps a pregnant mother, murders her, and claims the child as her own. However, the authorities return the infant to her biological family, and prosecute the killer. The novel explores what would happen to such as child, and what would be the nature of a relationship between the child and the killer.
