Joshua Casty, son of Jeanine Trovato Casty and Michael Casty ’95, is the starting center on the CMEK Grade 1 Club Basketball Team. Fellow Bulldog alum Chad Mekles’99 is the head coach of the team. Joshua earned the nickname “The Landlord” for his incredible defense in the paint. He blocks shots, rebounds, and intimidates the opposition, who often shy away in fear of coming into his territory. Lately, his offensive game has also developed. Josh even won a shooting game and earned a sneaker autographed by Shelden Williams, a former star at Duke University who went on to play in the NBA for a few teams, including Joshua’s favorite, the Boston Celtics. Josh, who started training in Pre-Kindergarten, is pictured below with Coach Chad, his mom Jeannine, and his teammates who just completed an outstanding Winter Season playing up one grade level.
