LS Robotics Teams Deep See, Ocean Animals Achieve Inaugural Success!

Jan 27, 2025 | Recent News, Tech & Robotics

This weekend, the D-E360° FIRST LEGO League Explore robotics teams showcased their work at the Teki Explore Festival along with 30 teams from across the state.  The season’s theme was “Submerged,” and students were challenged to identify a real-world problem related to ocean exploration and to build and code a prototype solution to the problem using LEGO robotics components.  Team Ocean Animals won the Tech Trailblazers award for their project related to marine animal conservation and rehabilitation.  Team Deep See won the Future Leaders award for their project related to ocean tourism and pollution prevention.  According to Coach Li and Coach Larionoff, the work the students accomplished helped build key skills of perseverance, critical thinking, and collaboration.

Hear what some of our LS Robotics Team students had to say about the experience: “I was happy that we worked as a team. Everything was done by us. No grownups helped us at the competition.”; “I was glad we all put hard work into everything: solution models, posters, and scripts.”; “I was excited that I got to build the submarine and got to share our work with others.”; and “I was excited about having the judges coming over to see our project and ask us questions, for me to see what a competition is like.”
