Last Friday the Bulldog Ice Hockey Club Team competed in the Fieldston Cup Lightning Tournament, a 3-team hockey event consisting of 20-minute “lightning” games at the Riverbank State Park rink on Manhattan’s West Side. Teams were D-E, host Fieldston, and Poly Prep. In exhilarating matchups that included two sudden-death overtimes, our Bulldogs came out on top!
“Throughout the evening’s play, junior goaltender Alex Sheffield ’26 was stellar, making some great saves,” says US Math and Computer Science Teacher and Coach Joe Iwanski. He also credits senior tri-captain Wyatt Obergfell ’25, Mason Sternhell, Teddy Cunha ’28, Jacob Baldachin ’27, and Max Goyal ’27 for their outstanding contributions in this tournament. Mr. Iwanski raves that “The team ended its Big Apple League season with wins in 4 of its last 5 games and the trophy from last night’s exciting event!” GO BULLDOGS!!
