US Students Get Dog Therapy Ahead of PAW

Mar 10, 2025 | D-E Traditions, Recent News

In preparation for Projects & Assessments Week (PAW), our Upper School (US) students got some TLC from cute canines Marley, a Golden Retriever; Tashi, a Tibetan Lhasa Apso; and Dakota, a Newfoundland. The therapy dog visit was organized by members of D-E’s student organization Mind Matters. Students were invited to Hulst House “for a break and to relieve some stress,” says club member Remi Silver ’26. The idea started last year with one pup visit for PAW, says club leader Ella Mansager ’26, so it was great that three dogs could provide comfort to the student body this time. The activity was also an opportunity “to bring traction to Mind Matters,” adds Ella. “We want to showcase how important mental health is.” We hope the cuddling helped–and wish our hard-working US students good luck this week!
