D-E’s AXIS student organization was excited to welcome back alumna Krista Ninivaggi ’97, an award-winning Interior Designer and Architect, last week at the Swartley Art Gallery. Ms. Ninivaggi’s visit was coordinated with help from D-E Art & Design Department faculty member Rachel Brusky, who was a RISD classmate of hers! Ms. Ninivaggi is currently the Principal at Woods Bagot, a sustainability focused global architecture firm. She has worked on residential interiors across Brooklyn and Manhattan and led the redesign of lounges inside the Barclays Center. During her visit, Ms. Ninivaggi gave a presentation to Architecture classes and Upper School students interested in learning more about sculpting spaces. “Design is a lifestyle,” Ms. Ninivaggi says, adding that she was drawn to the field because she is a social person by nature. Going out regularly, she says, “brought me into design.”
