A group of highly engaged parents recently gathered in Hulst House with members of D-E’s Counseling Team to discuss Jennifer Wallace’s book, “Never Enough: When Achievement Culture Becomes Toxic—and What We Can Do About It.” The book asks readers to consider the unprecedented pressure our students face because of our understandable desire to set them up for success. Through these discussions D-E’s Principals, Ms. Lalli, Mr. Davis, and Mr. Choi, hope to work together with D-E families to support our students’ well-being and ensure a more enriching and balanced learning environment. Our next discussion group will meet virtually on Tuesday, Nov. 4, from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM. This initiative will culminate in an in-person conversation with the author on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 7:00 PM in Hajjar Auditorium that is open to all D-E families. To RSVP, please see the link in our bio.
