As part of Spirit Week, and another chance to earn points for their grade, our 8th-grade Middle School (MS) Robotics Team planned a cross-divisional maker competition. MS and Upper School students used their creativity to decorate pumpkins in the Makerspace as one of their favorite characters using paint, modeling clay, gemstones, and more. Lower School students were then invited to take a mini field trip to The Imperatore Library to vote on their favorite creations—including Charlie Brown characters, Hello Kitty, a Labubu, and the ever-popular 6-7 meme—plus enjoy Storytime with an 8th grader or Innovation Coordinator Ms. Larionoff. Arielle N. ’30, who helped organize the event, said this activity allows students who aren’t in Robotics to experience what goes on in the Makerspace. “Because both the Upper and Lower Schools get involved, it makes this an all-school activity, which is really fun,” she says. Good luck to all our creators!
