Our Bulldog ‘Bots are State bound! Upper School (US) Robotics students recently competed at the Bergen County League Tournament at Emerson Junior-Senior High School. During the qualification rounds, Critical Mass, our Varsity Team, ranked No. 2, and Absolute Zero, our JV Team, ranked No. 8, out of 21 teams. During the playoffs, Critical Mass partnered with Hypnotic Robotics from River Dell High School as the No. 1 seed, and Absolute Zero partnered with the RoboCavos from Emerson as the No. 4 seed. Both alliances performed exceptionally well, cutting through the field to face off in the finals. In the end, Critical Mass, with their partner, prevailed as the winning alliance!

Impressively, Critical Mass received the second-place Inspire Award, the top judged award recognizing teams that excel in all aspects of the competition. “These students have been working towards this event since September, iterating through their mechanical designs, improving their programming, practicing driving, and performing outreach and mentorship within our school and the larger community,” says US Robotics Coach Chris Fleischl. Critical Mass competes in the State Championship this Sunday, March 15, at Hillsborough High School. You’ve got this, Critical Mass!
