MAGIC, a D-E tradition in the Upper School (US) that has been going strong for 30 years, was filled with revelry, intense competition, and unexpected winners—congrats to the Sophomores, sporting purple T-shirts, for rising to the challenge this year! As many in our community know, MAGIC (the Michael Andrew Glowski Intramural Competition) is named in memory of Michael, an US student from the Class of 1995 who died suddenly of health complications before he graduated. In an earlier US gathering, Michael’s parents, Kathleen and Mathew Glowski, shared how Michael, a student-athlete, “valued the spirit of community.” During this year’s annual event, held in the Myrna B. Sherman Gym, D-E Student Activities Team, Faculty/Staff judges, and scorekeeper Mr. Middleton worked exceptionally hard to ensure the games—which included a sundae relay, a one-legged race, a water bottle flip relay, a wheelbarrow relay, the always-exciting musical chairs, and the grand finale tug-of-war—were fair and on track. Way to bring the team spirit, Bulldogs!
