7th Grade Human Anatomy, Symbolism & Character Analysis Showcase

Mar 26, 2024 | Recent News

The 7th Grade recently hosted their “The Anatomy of a Human” Exhibit that showcased their interdisciplinary projects for Science and English. In Science, students have been learning about the various systems of the human body. They created life-sized silhouettes that explore their unique attributes and functions.

On the flip side of each lifesize display, there was an analysis of a character from Reyna Grande’s 2012 memoir, “The Distance Between Us” that follows her family’s migration from Mexico to the U.S.

Additionally, students analyzed much of the symbolism found in the memoir and were asked to create a model of an object that has significance to their lives. It was a fantastic showcase of the students’ learning! Congratulations to the 7th Grade Team and students for a wonderful exhibit.
