Our Lower School sings out loud! This week Lower School (LS) students gathered in the LS gym for a joy-filled Sing-Along Assembly, led by LS Music Teacher Fiona Crawford. “This assembly was one of the only opportunities for students in every grade to sing with the whole Lower School,” said Ms. Crawford. After giving our youngest learners tips on warming up their voices, as “the voice is an important muscle,” Ms. Crawford played a video featuring neurosurgeon and medical reporter Dr. Sanjay Gupta, who explained the benefits of singing and how it activates different areas of the brain. Students then lifted their voices to faculty favorites “You’ll Sing a Song” by Ella Jenkins; camp song “One Bottle of Pop”; “Count on Me” by Bruno Mars; “Our House” by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young; and “Sing a Song” by the Carpenters. Kindergartener Bodie C-P ’37 beautifully closed out the assembly by reciting a poem on the gift to sing. Bravo to all who participated!
