Chinese Culture Club Hosts Mahjong Tournament

May 6, 2025 | Recent News, School Life Highlights

The Chinese Culture Club (CCC), which is dedicated to exploring and celebrating Chinese heritage, recently hosted its annual Mahjong Tournament at D-E with the goal of bringing people together to play the strategy-based tile game that is popular in Chinese culture. While they played and cheered one another on, students enjoyed bubble tea and Chinese sweets and treats. “Students had so much fun competing against each other and learning more about Mahjong and its background,” says club leader Charlotte Au ’27. “Being able to offer these experiences to our D-E community is truly a privilege, and it is important to us that we can teach others about our traditions while also making it enjoyable.” As with all culture clubs at D-E, you can be of any race or ethnicity to join! “[This event] was a reminder that culture is best shared through meaningful, memorable experiences,” shares Charlotte.
