D-E 360° Summer Young Visionaries Highlights

Jul 17, 2024 | D-E 360 ̊, Recent News

Our Young Visionaries (YV) campers with D-E 360° Summer have been enjoying an incredible series of hands-on learning and experiential programs, as well as presentations from accomplished visiting architects, artists, and writers. Under the skilled and energetic direction of D-E Art & Design Department faculty member Rachel Brusky, campers are learning and embracing so many different ways of creative expression. Last week our YV participants were enlightened by Peggy King Jorde, on the impacts of architecture on history and planning, design, public art, and historic preservation. This week campers also heard directly from Young Adult fiction bestselling novelist (and D-E alumni parent!) Sayantani DasGupta and the highly innovative designer/artist (and D-E alumnus!) Takun (Josh) Williams ‘02. Throughout the program, our YV campers have been challenged to try out new artistic techniques and perspectives. Families and friends are invited to a Final Exhibit showcasing our YV artists’ amazing work on Friday, July 19, in D-E’s STEM Center, from 1:00 to 2:15 PM.
