Beloved long-time D-E faculty members John Stott (History Department) and John King (Mathematics Department) were recognized in a moving Classroom Dedication Ceremony. Each served 40+ years teaching at D-E prior to retiring earlier this year. Interim Head of School Preeti Fibiger and former Upper School Principal Joe Algrant took turns at the podium to recognize both Mr. Stott and Mr. King, who in sum taught at D-E for an incredible 87 years. Tribute remarks, both poignant and humorous, were provided by teachers Phil Swirbul and Jack Armitage, and then dedication plaques (now placed in the John Stott and John King Classrooms) were read to the audience by Alex Russell-Walker and Patti Barrett, Chairs of the History and Mathematics Departments respectively. Everyone then moved on to witness celebratory ribbon cuttings for each of the newly-named John Stott and John King Classrooms, and admire both the exterior and interior plaques honoring each teacher. Congratulations Mr. Stott and Mr. King, and thank you for your amazing D-Edication to our community!
