D-E Celebrates Halloween: Annual LEAD Parade!

Project L.E.A.D. (Literary, Exploration, and Adventure Day) is here! On Thursday, October 31, D-E’s Lower School dressed up as their favorite book characters to embrace a love of reading while engaging in a fun D-E tradition. Middle Schoolers were invited to watch the annual LS parade at Leggett Field, where students and teachers alike proudly displayed the books that inspired their creative costumes. We spotted a chicken from Big Chickens Fly the Coop, Disney’s Maleficent, Dracula, Captain Hook, Sherlock Holmes, and, of course, Harry Potter!

Faculty got in the spirit, too–with LS Interim Co-Principals Susan Abramson and Julia Calantone portraying Billie Jean King and Harold and the Purple Crayon, respectively, and teachers representing If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, The Paper Bag Princess, and many more.

Meanwhile, MS faculty dressed as a group of crayons and MS Principal Jonathan Davis embraced the role of Waldo from Where’s Waldo? A fantastic time was had by all!
