BRAVO  High School Musical JR Cast & Crew!

May 12, 2025 | Art & Design, Performing Arts, Recent News

Bravo! Congrats to our Middle School cast and crew, who put on high-spirited performances of “High School Musical JR” this weekend. Before the show went on, DJ Ava M. ’29 warmed up the audience with dance hits from the mid-2000s. The story of “freaky math girl” Gabriella, basketball star Troy, as well as their friends and frenemies was then played out with energetic song and dance. “Gabriella is a very shy girl who does not like stereotypes but then reaches for the stars on stage with her partner in crime,” explained Ella G. ’30 of her character. At the conclusion of the musical, cast members gave flowers of gratitude to Theatre Department faculty, including MS Theater Director and Drama Teacher Eileen Lynch, Lower School Music Teacher Lisa Dove, and Dean of Performing Arts Adam Slee, as well as guest choreographers John John Tarrayo and Bella Savas, Dance Captain Arianna C. ’30, and Stage Manager Ben Gmyrek ’25. Austin Tiemann ’30, who played one of the leads, then took the stage to acknowledge the stage crew, who he said, “made the magic happen behind the scenes,” proving that “We’re all in this together”!
