Innovation In Action: D-E Faculty/Staff Attend EdTechWeek

Oct 24, 2025 | Innovation in Academics, Recent News, Seeking Excellence

D-E faculty and staff from all three divisions attended EdTechWeek, a three-day conference in New York that brings together some of the brightest minds in technology and education to tackle some of the most pressing challenges that educators are currently facing, including how to better position ourselves in the era of Artificial Intelligence. Among those who attended, Mr. Joe Murphy, Philosophy and Ethics Department Chair, said he appreciated that the sessions featured an interesting mix of educators and entrepreneurs. “Discussions included how AI should not replace teaching or cognitive processes in learning, but how we can best integrate AI into teaching and learning to prepare our students for their futures,” said Chief Innovation Officer Diana Gross, who facilitated D-E’s participation in the event. “While there is no magic bullet for how we will do this, it was very exciting to watch our D-E team engaging at this level and beginning to truly consider how we as a school need to respond to this changing world.”
