Feb 23, 2026 | D-E Traditions, Recent News

Let the countdown begin! The D-E Class of 2026 was recently invited to Hajjar Auditorium to celebrate 100 Days to Commencement. During the event, hosted by the D-E Development and Alumni Relations Team, students were treated to a D-Electable breakfast of blue-and-gold sprinkled donuts, assorted fruit, and yogurt. Maria Sanchez Gardner ’78, Director of Alumni Relations; Liz Iannaconi ’04, Assistant Director of Alumni Relations; Sari Perrino, Director of Development; and Linda Binder, Director of Special Events, gave welcome remarks and gifted the seniors with custom D-E beanie hats. “This is a huge milestone in your life,” said Ms. Gardner, who announced an upcoming senior event and noted that graduates could continue their engagement at D-E through the alumni website and with involvement in young alumni activities. “It’s exciting but also nostalgic at the same time,” said Miranda Cheng ’26 of being 100 days from graduation. D-E “Lifer” Tommy Thibodeaux ’26, who joined the D-E community in second grade, added that this moment was an emotional one. “I’ve known these kids [nearly] all my life… they’ve been with me for my whole journey at D-E,” he said. We’re rooting you on from here to commencement… and beyond, Class of 2026!
