The Upper School (US) CODES Club recently hosted a fantastic “PaintFest” service learning program in partnership with the Foundation for Hospital Art. Their efforts culminated in beautiful, vivid paintings that will eventually find their way to the walls of Englewood Hospital. CODES Co-Presidents Amanda Leyman ’26 and Emma Baumgarten ’26 together expressed that the program was a wonderful way to get the entire US community involved hands-on in something with tangible, local impact. They shared, “Being able to use resources that we have for good is both important and meaningful… It’s always important to give back and [through this CODES program] we are helping our D-E community make a difference. Allie Albrecht ’27 echoed this sentiment, noting that “[literally] in this case, we are brightening the lives of patients in the hospital and ideally we can provide them with hope during difficult times [through these paintings].” Keep up the great work, CODES!
