“The Laser”

I could never see your eyes
They were always hidden behind this exterior –
this unbreachable, blinding
laser pointer
yes
seemingly innocent tool
but used to seemingly…point
but you can easily use it to gouge my eyes
leaving me sightless, bleeding,
Just the same color your eyes portray

Or I could easily be swept in your eyes
Trying to chase them like your innocent little feline

Running around chasing you and trying to grab and hold them.

Your eyes, calculating every variable
To see if I fit this molded design

You fantasize

Every word that flows from my lips
was boomeranged back at me
lashing at me and breaking my skin until
I’m left alone, with my raised crooked lips
Leaving them dripping with the same
deep bloody color of your eyes.
